This full-time position works Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Reimbursement Specialist plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement for services, supporting the financial health of the organization and contributing to a seamless experience for patients and families.
Since 1978, Trustbridge Hospice has cared for more than 200,000 South Florida families. As a community-based nonprofit, we provide 24/7 hospice and palliative care, along with caregiver support and bereavement services for families facing serious illness.
What You’ll Do
- Compile, process, and maintain accounts receivable and patient revenue records and reports.
- Answer inquiries from patients and insurance sources regarding patient status and reimbursement details.
- Contact insurance companies and use payer websites to secure outstanding payments.
- Review rejections from assigned payers and plans to determine validity and take corrective action to resolve claims.
- Utilize general healthcare accounting practices and internal systems, including EClinical Works EMR, to support accurate billing and collections.

What You’ll Need.
- Associate’s degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- One year of previous Home Health billing experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of personal computers, medical terminology, healthcare insurance, billing/collections processes, and Medicaid/Medicare regulations.
- Medicaid processing experience and strong problem-solving skills preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including negotiation experience.
- Experience working with social service agencies and other healthcare providers.
- Ability to use independent judgment and work effectively with minimal direction.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
