Infection Preventionist/EE Health Resource

Empath Health includes hospice, palliative home health and physician services, independent living assistance and day care for seniors, HIV services and advance care planning.

We are currently seeking an experienced and detail oriented Infection Preventionist/Employee Health Resource to join our team. The Infection Preventionist/Employee Health Resource is responsible for the day to day operation of the Infection Prevention and Control Program; and in collaboration with Human Resources oversee the employee health functions for the organization. The Infection Preventionist/Employee Health Resource possesses clinical expertise and utilizes critical thinking skills that focus on the needs of the patient and family, employees, volunteers, and other healthcare professionals. The Infection Preventionist/Employee Health Resource collaborates with other healthcare professionals, community agencies and is familiar with standards and regulations from the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, CMS, OSHA, The Joint Commission, and the State of Florida. The Infection Preventionist/Employee Health Resource promotes a safe working environment, through pre-employment and annual health screenings, education and surveillance activities.

As a Infection Preventionist/Employee Health Resource with Empath Health you must be patient/family focused, loyal, motivated and interested in serving your community.

Other requirements of this role include:

• Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred; previous experience in Infection Control and Employee Health in a healthcare setting; 3 – 5 years preferred.
• Licensure: RN, licensed in State of Florida (Preferred)
• Certifications (i.e. CPR): Certified by Board of Infection Control or comparable certifying body or eligible within 2 years.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills required.
