Evening Supervisor

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health is currently seeking an Evening Supervisor to join our admissions team. 

Monday - Friday  1:00pm - 10:00pm

The Evening Supervisor is an integral component of the leadership access team within the Care Navigation Department.  He/She/They assume responsibility of admissions, discharges and transfers throughout the region. For all service lines, the Evening Supervisor is directly responsible for compliance with governing state and federal regulations and standards of care guidelines of outside accreditation agencies. The Evening Supervisors upholds the direction and key initiatives of the Access Manager and the organization alike.  This leader ensures access to the care network of Empath Health and facilitates optimum person-centered experience, while clearly exhibiting passion, excellence and a desire to serve.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Admissions Department

  1. Identify strategic customer service, access and admission alliances to position Empath Health for the future of the ever-changing health care industry.
  2. Lead department to successful admission.
  3. Access regularly all service opportunities consistent with Empath Health’s mission, vision, strategic and access goals to maximize the customer experience.
  4. Exhibit ability to think creatively in recommending proper follow through and service excellence to provide the right care at the right time by working directly with internal and external colleagues.

    Leadership

    1. Work directly with Access Managers to always ensure care program access.
    2. Work directly with key community partners to ensure excellent relationships and process excellence.
    3. Serve as a resource to all direct reports, as well as inter-departmental staff to insure continual access, compliance, customer service, collaborative efforts.
    4. Ensure data accuracy, transparency and understanding.
    5. Lead, mentor, and coach managers field colleagues to insure access to the care network of Empath Health within regulatory guidelines.
    6. Represent the agency in providing education to the community regarding the care network offered within Empath Health.
    7. Work directly with department leads and directors to insure ongoing internal relationship-building and collaborative efforts to insure an excellent person-centered experience.
    8. Actively work with Access Manager to reduce turnover and improve colleague retention.
    9. Work directly with Health Information Management Director to always ensure integrity of electronic medical record.

    Stewardship and Planning

    1. Make crucial financial leadership decisions within the directives of the Access Manager, upholding their strategic plan and initiatives.
    2. Align the daily work with the strategic direction of the agency.
    3. Actively participate in agency planning efforts to exceed the needs of the community.
    4. Champions the care experience and engages staff to continuously enhance the care experience by inspiring a culture of person-centered care and serving as a role model for care experience excellence.
    5. Identifies key performance measures and analyzes trends. Implements strategic planning for process improvement and unencumbered access to Empath services.
    6. The Evening Supervisor will perform other duties as specified.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

    • Degree: Registered Nurse (RN), AS or BSN
    • Licensure: Current FL RN
    • Experience: years and type: A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years hospice leadership experience with proven ability to manage quality, customer service, and lead through navigation of programs and services. Extensive understanding of hospice philosophy, mission, goals, and best practice.
    • Continuing education: Per FL RN licensure specifications
