As the Director of Grief Services, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of grief support in our community. You will lead a team of Grief Care Managers, and the grief and counseling services provided to clients.
This role ensures that the client experience exceeds expectations while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, standards of practice, and Joint Commission standards. The Director will also be responsible for enhancing program effectiveness, driving innovation in service delivery, and fostering a culture of compassionate care and professional development for staff.
Key responsibilities include:
- Client-Centered Care Leadership:
Ensures client-centered services are consistently at the forefront of decision-making. Develops and implements standards and practices that focus on exceeding client needs and expectations. - Regulatory and Compliance Oversight:
Develops resources and training materials to ensure all staff are knowledgeable about regulatory and compliance requirements. Uses audit data to drive continuous improvement and staff development in line with regulatory standards. - Grief Care Service Delivery:
Develops, implements, monitors systems to ensure a full complement of grief care services are available to clients across all regions and delivery channels (in-person, virtual, etc.). - Policy and Procedure Review:
Regularly reviews and revises existing policies and procedures to ensure they are relevant, effective, and aligned with the evolving needs of the organization and clients. - Vision, Mission, and Values Advocacy:
Promotes, models, and integrates the organization’s vision, mission, and values in all aspects of leadership and service delivery. - Stakeholder Communication:
Articulates and communicates the organization’s messages to internal and external constituencies, maintaining a positive and proactive tone that supports organizational efforts and relationships. - Leadership Development:
Demonstrates leadership through continuous personal skill development, participation in professional peer networks, and mentorship of other leaders within the organization. - Committee Leadership:
Participates and assumes leadership roles in organizational committees, task forces, and special projects as assigned. - Strategic Planning:
Collaborates with other senior leaders to develop and implement annual strategic plans. Ensures that departmental objectives align with and support the organization’s strategic goals. - Staff Recruitment, Training, and Mentorship:
Partners with Grief Care Managers to ensure that grief counselors are well-trained, mentored, and supported in their professional development. Ensures that positions are filled with the most qualified candidates.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Minimum of 3 years of experience in direct clinical services, preferably in a Hospice and Palliative Care environment. A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or license-eligible and committed to completing licensure requirements within 3 years of accepting the position.
- Continuing Education as required for licensure
