Sr. HR Specialist-Business Partners

The Human Resources Specialist – Business Partners will assist the HRBP’s with colleague relations investigations, general human resources functions, conducting colleague investigations, handling day-to-day questions from colleagues, and creating human resources policies

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR and contract negotiations.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel.  Able to create formulas, spreadsheets, and compile data. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5-7 years of Human Resources experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field required.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Handles complex employee relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and compliance issues; refers complex matters to appropriate management staff.
  • Serves as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints.
  • Conducts employee relations interviews, gathers information, and makes recommendations on the level of discipline as it pertains to harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns.
  • Trains and mentors the Human Resources Specialist. 
  • Serves as a point of escalation for the Human Resources Specialist regarding colleague concerns. 
  • Assists with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion particularly as related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEOC) and organizational initiatives.
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, and other research related to human resource policies, compensation, and other labor negotiations; collects information and reports results to Human Resources Business Partners, or Human Resources Director.
  • Analyzes and tracks trends in HR such as: turnover, staffing, lines of business, and employee relations.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, collective bargaining, unions, labor relations, and human resources.
  • Creates plans, policies, documents, and reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
