Trustbridge Hospice in Boca Raton, a division of Empath Health is seeking a detail-oriented Full-Time Patient Services Culinary Specialist/Cookto help promote and follow all dietary policies and procedures in the Café to ensure safe food practices. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our programs and services meet regulatory dietary requirements, and reflect best practices that benefit our patients, families, and community.
What You’ll Do
Prepare hot and cold food items for the café line, grab-and-go, and special orders.
Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and dietary restrictions (e.g., low-sodium, gluten-free).
Ensure all food is cooked and held at appropriate temperatures and presented attractively.
Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and steam tables safely and efficiently.
Restock and maintain café food stations, salad bars, and serving areas.
Maintain food safety and sanitation standards per local health codes and facility policies (e.g., proper food storage, labeling, dating).
Assist in planning daily specials or menu offerings in collaboration with supervisor or chef.
Ensure allergen awareness and respond appropriately to dietary restrictions.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, kitchen, and serving areas throughout and after shifts.
Assist in receiving and storing food and supply deliveries, ensuring rotation (FIFO).
Provide excellent customer service to guests, staff, and residents in a courteous and respectful manner.
Communicate low inventory or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.
Support other areas of food service (e.g., catering, patient trays) as needed.

Position Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 1–2 years of cooking experience in a café, restaurant, or institutional setting (healthcare preferred).
Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation practices, and basic nutrition.
ServSafe or local Food Handler’s Certification required or obtainable within 30 days of hire.
Ability to read and follow recipes and production sheets accurately.
Strong time management and multitasking skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
